\"DSCN0626\"It is September and the front garden is starting to be in full production. By the end of the week I will taste my first runner beans and the courgettes need to be picked up every couple of days. On the container side I have started to pick my first \u00a0tomatoes and I have a regular supply of baby carrots to the delight of my friend\u2019s rabbit who love the tops (pesticide free of course). This year I\u2019m trialling a butternut squash and a pumpkin in containers. One of my friends has had some success with those but to date no sign of any butternut squash; the plant is healthy though.<\/p>\n

Recently\u00a0I \u00a0replanted some baby kale into a larger pot so they can wait when some space becomes available in the front garden.\u00a0 These will be very welcome in wintertime when it is hard to get a fresh supply of greens from the allotment. \u00a0I am also hoping to plant some rainbow chard which can be harvested in the winter.<\/p>\n
